Comments Comment by Flipityflu The maps for the elemental leather trainers have the correct locations, however the descriptions are wrong.
Comment by princa Great guide. About the leveling: doing Light Leather until 30 and then the armor kits will be way more efficient. Comment by KnuteOle This takes me back. If you're not in a huge hurry to level, I always found that staying in the lower level zones once your questing is complete and grinding mobs for leather was a great way to keep your LW skill aligned with your character's level.
I was often able to create gear that I was too low level to wear; I looked forward to reaching the right level so I could wear it, such as the Tough Scorpid set. When my hunter switched from leather to mail, I had a full mail set ready for me! Comment by zndman Great guide, thanks for the effort. Comment by frostyfire14 Hey Quissy! Thanks for the guide. Can you please post some of the unique rewards that each type of leatherworking grants the player if they choose that path?
Some teasers! Comment by Aysom Hi. Does Dark Leather Belt actually exist in Classic, or is it just an item that was found in the files? Comment by Tiwuno Telonis is at Una is artisan trainer not expert. They seem to only be taught by Una who is in Thunder Buff. Comment by Bravoure Swift Boots Actually has a one hour cool-down, not 15 minutes, unless there is an upgrade to the boots or pattern that I am unaware of. Comment by axeurol You can do and maybe even beyond, it turns yellow at and green at by doing Guardian Gloves 4x Heavy Leather , 1x Cured Heavy Hide , 1x Silken Thread , which is currently 3 to 4 times cheaper than the Dusky Bracers suggested in the guide.
Comment by leroiwilliams What do you do with all your Medium Leather? What am I doing wrong? Comment by yoval18 Is it possible to switch specialization? For example from elemental lw to tribal or vice versa? If you do choose to level through the AH, be prepared to spend thousands of gold doing it. Also, leatherworking is unique in a few ways that makes skinning almost invaluable that most people don't see:.
Leatherworkers are also able to take lower quality leather materials gathered through skinning and convert them into higher quality items. As the quality increases, for example, from light to medium, the number of lower quality materials required to make one higher quality material increases.
The table below shows the conversions between all types of leather. Conversions taught by trainers are shown in bold green text. The fractions are for comparison only.
Leather cannot be split into lower grades. Leathers cannot be converted across expansions; no amount of Knothide Leather, for example, can be converted to Borean Leather. In patch 4. There were previously three specializations: Elemental Leatherworking for Agility leather gear, Tribal Leatherworking for Intellect leather gear, and Dragonscale Leatherworking for Intellect mail gear. Patterns that required a specialization were either made craftable by anyone or removed from the game.
An article preserving information on the now-removed specializations can be found at the Leatherworking proficiencies page.
At higher skill level, leatherworkers can apply Fur Lining to their own bracers and Leg Reinforcements to their own leg armor. Since these augments are meant for the leatherworker's personal use only, applying them causes the equipment to become soulbound. The resulting enchants are generally better than any enchant you can buy or otherwise acquire.
Fur Lining and Leg Reinforcements require at least leatherworking to remain active. Leg Reinforcements also have a minimum character level requirement. Wowpedia Explore.
Main Page All Pages. World of Warcraft. Classic Vanilla The Frozen Throne Reforged. These buildings provide enough mats each day to complete work orders for the profession buildings.
Leatherworkers and Tailors are somewhat forced to put up a barn in order to get materials to place work orders at the Tannery. If you have Leatherworking but not skinning, you're kinda hooped for materials and forced to buy them from the AH or use one of your 2 medium plots to put up the barn, a choice that Blacksmithing, Engineering, Jewelcrafting, Alchemy and Inscription are not required to make.
Not nice Blizzard. My main's Tannery is just sitting in my garrison taking up space because by the time I discovered this dilemma it was too late. So I guess I spend resources to rebuild, or let it sit there doing nothing until I can level an alt with Skinning. Comment by Draewind In WoW professions we now buid items that can rival the raid drop items and are far better than the dungeon drop items.
They start small and can be made bigger and bigger. The random enchant includes 2 of the secondary stats giving us a measurable chance or RNG. Items for the Back cloak , neck, neck, finger ring , weapon, and shield, have a greater number of possibilities than other armor items, because they can contain the secondary statistics of Bonus Armor and Spirit fortunately they do not include the combination of both those statistics ;-. I wish I could add a picture here. Cloaks, Necks, Rings, Shields, Weapons: These items have an additional 2 statisctics added to the normal 4.
The added statistics, as mentioned earlier, are Bonus Armor and Spirit Tank and Healer statistics, respectively. Fortunately there is no combination of both Bonus Armor and Spirit ever here of teats on a boar hog?
Only weapon types intended for a healing class will have the possibility of Spirit, and only weapon types intended for a tanking class will have Bonus Armor. Weapons intended for both, will have the same chances as all the jewelry, cloaks, and shields. So if it can be enchanted by enchanting or is a shield, it fits in this class of item. I am not certain whether Bonus Armor and Spirit have the same chance of being included.
They also vary with the level of the individual wearing or looking at them. There you have it. All the possible names and combinations. All items of the same level contain the same amount of statistic, such as "54 Critical Strike" and I have not seen a crafted item with a double a statistic only one statistic but twice the value. EDIT: None of content, just spelling and highlighting.
Comment by fenix7 Be Careful! If you are a Leatherworker, do not buy the plans to build the Tannery at your garrison! Nor the Draenor Leatherworking Recipe! Just run some dungeons or kill a few mobs at Draenor and soon you will loot the item that starts the Leatherworking quest.
At the end of chain quest you will receive both for free! Comment by tenn Want to put your daily recipies on your action bars? I found this useful when using a remote application to access WoW remotely from my phone while on vacation - between this, a garrison mission addon, and parking my characters next to their mission tables, I was able to get through all 3 of their missions and daily recipes in less than 5 minutes. Comment by lankybrit The single worst profession to level the normal way.
Just save yourself for Draenor and level it there. Raw Beast Hides are easy to come by from Skinning and Trapping. Also, they don't cost much on the AH. Just level your Leatherworking in Draenor. Comment by curledlizard Where it says , don't forget the Monk!
Comment by Blizky Stuck in level ? Purchase a pattern for an item level with 3 stars. You can find some belts from Strap Bucklebolt in the underbelly.
Also making Burnished Leather could also give 1 point per day. Comment by Justus For those that are stuck in Legion LW because Stalriss Dawnrunner will not talk to you he sells the advanced patterns , but you've completed all the "lesser" patterns, work on getting the mask in Suramar city. The quest line to get the mask starts with clicking 6 scrolls and 4 pylons around 30,44 in Suramar. I fell into this problem on my alt because i leveled up with invasions and didn't bother doing quests.
I found the answer by reading a tailoring quest on another toon talking about getting the mask. So i tried it out and sure enough, the quest unlocked! Because it only takes Coarse Leather and you can sell the rest of the materials you get from Skinning. However, I DO think that as a whole the item is very difficult to make money with as you need 25 Coarse Leather ; which for a stack of the Coarse Leather Barding you need Comment by Bonamassa when you look at the age of the comments you can see how useless LW and other professoins has become.
Blizzard: make professions usefull again. Comment by pattersonj The Shadowlands lw guide link is bad. It links to BFA lw. Just an fyi! Comment by Ferathnu Interesting situation here. But I'm able t take the Skin Deep quest. Same thing for Legion Skinning. I'm at a loss to explain this. Any help would be appreciated. If u thinking of buying everything on AH the material costs will scale from 1,5 mil to 2 mil golds to buy all at this time!
Also gathering Heavy Callous Hide is real pain and will take up to 30 h to farm if not more , because only every 18ish skinned mob will drop 1 x Heavy Callous Hide in patch 9. Comment by BearHawk On the list for Northrend Leatherworking it says that the Drums of the Wild and the Drums of Forgotten Kings are learnable at Northrend Leatherworking 65 but it's showing in game that They can't be trained until
